How in a modern day world do we make things relevant for modern day students? How as marketers do we build a real and honest relationship with them ? And how as parents do we communicate with them? Join Sarah and Bryon as we discuss connecting with modern day youth. From his experience as a youth worker and speaker there are not many people with as wide of a perspective on today’s youth as Byron. Byron has always had a passion for working with young people. In middle school Byron worked with elementary students. In high school he coached and officiated youth sports. In college, he worked full time with youth in the inner city while earning his degree in developmental psychology. He has worked with youth and families from diverse backgrounds and in a wide range of situations including in drop-in centers and with youth who were referred to him due to risk factors and behavioral issues.

Carol Phillips is President of a consulting firm, Brand Amplitude, LLC and adjunct professor of Marketing at The University of Notre Dame. Her classroom experience with students stimulated an early interest in Millennials and especially how their unique values and communications preferences are making new demands on marketers. She consults with clients on strategies for engaging Millennials, as well as conducts market research and creates brand strategies on behalf of Brand Amplitude’s clients. These include JC Penney, Blockbuster, Westlake Ace Hardware, Whirlpool, the YMCA and University of Notre Dame. Carol is also a boomer mom of two teenagers.
