I love this post by Karla M on Brazen Careerist. It is Gen Y at their best funny, charming and thought provoking all in one.
Here are my top faves from her list.
- Being vegetarian can teach you a lot of things, from compassion to simplicity, creativity to amazingly regular bowel movements.
- You will appreciate the value of education so much more when you go back to school after at least four years in an office cubicle.
- If you are to be anything, anything at all, be these two things: Love and Gratitude.
- Quit smoking. It’s the best gift you can give your body, if you can’t be a vegetarian.
- Curiosity may have killed the cat, but losing it altogether kills the spirit.

Inspiration for Gen Y – Just do it!
Johnny Strange, a native of Malibu, California, has achieved a big feat in a very young age. The 17 year old kid has scaled the perilous terrains of the Mount Everest which stands at 29, 0335 feet and managed to leave his mark on the mountain top. On reaching the top of the highest mountain peak in the world, he left a message declaring loudly, “Stop Genocide”. He succeeded in his hazardous mission almost three weeks ago.
Well done Johnny!

From TV Runner to Music Star

I want to introduce one of the most amazing 23 year old’s I have met in a long time.
I met Hayley in 2005 when she was a runner on my TV show ( for those of you who do not know what a runner is well they do stuff no one else wants to do- even picking up dog poo). We got to know each other really well as she (at the tender age of 19) was there to ensure nothing happened to me at night while living with the teens.
When I asked Hayley what she wanted to do she said “one day I will release a song maybe”. At this point I had no idea she could sing and it took her 3 more years before she even let me listen to her. Hayley struck me as a down to earth genuinely great person who was very modest about her talents to say the least.
Well my nagging finally paid of and she has released her debut single and it is stunning
At 79p it is a bargain…and you will not only have a great song but will be helping to launch a new music career how cool in that!
Here is the video to her song…and as you can see I forgot to tell you she is also very beautiful.
Well done Hayley all of us here at Gen Y Guide send you big hugs….
